Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University (MAKÜ) continues to draw attention with its specialized structure in the field of animal husbandry and the scientific studies it conducts in this area. The university will host an important workshop to contribute to sustainable production and cost management topics.

 

The “Sustainable Animal Husbandry, Cost Management and Efficiency Workshop” to be held at MAKÜ on April 9, 2026, will bring together industry representatives, academicians, and producers. The workshop will be organized at Lavanta Tepesi Hotel.

 

Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University, which is among the specialized universities in the field of animal husbandry in Turkey, stands out with its projects especially on animal nutrition, forage crop production, efficiency enhancement, and sustainable agriculture practices. The research conducted within the university provides direct contributions to both the academic world and producers in the field.

 

Three main themes will be addressed within the scope of the workshop. The first theme will focus on nutrition management, feed costs, and economic efficiency in animal production. The second theme will cover the production of drought-resistant forage crops and resource management under climate change conditions. The third theme will address policy development, incentive mechanisms, and institutional collaborations for sustainable animal husbandry.

 

Critical topics such as reducing feed costs, the use of alternative feed sources, drought-resistant production models, and the dissemination of digital agriculture applications will be evaluated in detail at the event.

 

This workshop, to be held under the leadership of Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University, is expected to make significant contributions to the animal husbandry sector both regionally and nationally.
